Apply to Nonprofit Engine 2027

Deadline December 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

Nonprofit Engine will make two $250,000 awards in technical services for the 2027 cohort. Each award provides a dedicated team from Toboggan Labs for three to six months, at no cost to your nonprofit. The award is in kind, not cash. Nonprofit Engine has made awards since 2023. US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits and fiscally sponsored organizations working in Health or Workforce can apply. Your organization must demonstrate ownership of a tech stack and the ability to maintain and build on the work delivered through the program. NYC presence is not required. Past awardees are welcome to apply again. The application asks for a short slide deck, two videos, and a few details about your organization. Share files as links, such as Google Drive or unlisted YouTube.

Before you start, have these ready:

  • Slide deck overview: a PDF of up to 10 slides

  • Slide deck video: you presenting the deck, 5 minutes or less

  • Tech stack video: about 3 minutes, showing a demo of your product, your technical architecture, and your tech team

  • LinkedIn profiles for your technical leaders, including who would lead the project with Nonprofit Engine

  • Organization details: annual operating budget and how many people you serve each year

What to cover in your deck

  • Your vision or mission
  • What you do today: products, services, and scale
  • The technical build that would help your organization
  • Why this build is a priority now
  • The impact you expect, such as more people served
  • What you've invested so far and what you need next
  • Risks and unknowns
  • Who would lead the project with Nonprofit Engine

Finalists are notified by February 18 and pitch on March 2, 2027, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern Time, remotely or in person in New York City. Lunch follows from 1 to 2 p.m. Eastern Time. In-person participation is optional.
